Hashport is thrilled to announce one of our next network integrations; BNB Chain! As the third largest DeFi network by TVL, with nearly $5.5B in assets locked and over 400 protocols live, this new integration opens up many new possibilities. We often ask our community which networks they would like to see on Hashport and BNB Chain has been consistently requested. We are eager to expand our capabilities through the addition of $WBNB as well as many new tokens in the near future!
What is BNB Chain?
Binance Smart Chain (BSC) is an EVM-compatible blockchain network that supports smart contracts and decentralised applications. BSC runs alongside the BNB Beacon Chain, previously Binance Chain. The first one supports smart contracts while the latter enables high transaction volume with 3 seconds block time. Both blockchains together form BNB Chain.
BNB Smart Chain supports BNB, BNB Beacon Chain’s native cryptocurrency of BNB Beacon Chain, as well as BEP20 tokens. The blockchain relies on a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus. More specifically, users can stake BNB to become validators. Validators will get transaction fees as a reward for each block validated.
